Gary Clark Jr. Rarely does an artist explode onto the music scene with the force and impact of a comet. But when it does happen – as it did when 26-year-old singer-guitarist Gary Clark Jr. delivered an incendiary debut performance of his song “Bright Lights” at Eric Clapton’s 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival last June – the result is magical. Funky, hip, and badass, Gary Clark Jr. is a rocking soul man for a new generation.

Weaned on John Lee Hooker, Lightnin Hopkins, and T-Bone Walker, Clark fuses his deep blues influence with a love of classic hip-hop and contemporary soul. His voice weaves between a melodic lilt and a seasoned blues howl with his guitar licks dancing and dodging between and behind the beat as if the essence of Snoop and Dre loom in his head by way of the Mississippi Delta.

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood In 2011, after more than 20 years of intense gigging and recording, Chris Robinson set off to shape something new, a fresh rock mythology, a breathing kaleidoscopic thing stuffed with chooglin’ soul, bedrock boogie and shuffling wisdom birthed in intimate clubs and amongst the tall trees of the Golden State and eventually taken nationwide as the Chris Robinson Brotherhood evolved.

What began as an experiment without expectations turned into a 118-show journey for Robinson, Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, George Sluppick and Mark Dutton, a New Cosmic California sound that finds its fruition on the CRB’s studio debut Big Moon Ritual, to be followed by companion album The Magic Door.

Lissie Lissie was born in Rock Island, Illinois, on the banks of the Mississippi River. It’s the city that inspired Rock Island Line and that bore Bix Beiderbecke; it’s the stuff of spring floods and pick-up trucks and bona fide blue-collar country music. She’s a straight-talking Midwestern girl, all flaxen hair and big blue eyes, and this girl is smart and gutsy and tough, with a big old voice to match it: Laurel Canyon prettiness stewed in campfire and bourbon.

Since early this year, Lissie has largely been based in London, where Catching A Tiger was first released. Embraced lovingly by the British press, she’s been featured in Q, The Sun, The Sunday Times, The Mirror, Time Out, The Big Issue, and on BBC.

The Dirty Guv’nahs I don’t believe that things happen by chance… incredible things happen when people work hard, live humbly, and give credit where credit is due. You just gotta stay curious and dig in.” – James Trimble, lead singer, The Dirty Guv’nahs

That sentiment rings true to the curious journey of Knoxville, Tennessee’s favorite sons, The Dirty Guv’nahs, who came together on a lark in 2006 to perform just a single show. That one, short, inauspicious set however, led to a series of extraordinary events—a life-changing path for these six UT, Knoxville grads—but still just the prologue to a story that continues to unfold.
